Ahmad Abdulla began researching in Dr. Jokūbas Žiburkus lab during his undergraduate career at the University of Houston. Ahmad’s drive and Dr. Žiburkus’s excellent mentorship allowed him to rapidly excel as a neuroscientist and an electrophysiologist. Once he received his Bachelor of Science in Biology, he joined the Cell and Molecular Biology PhD program (at UH) and continued his studies in Žiburkus’s lab. Ahmad currently has one published peer-reviewed paper studying glutamate dynamics in cortical spreading depression (in press) and multiple papers studying the effects of cannabinoid components on disease underway. Ahmad Abdulla has a keen scientific interest in the biological mechanisms of the cannabinoid system and the therapeutic application of exogenous cannabis components.
